The entire time while I was in Bagan I experienced a very unfamiliar feeling, something I’ve never felt anywhere but at home. I did not want to leave. For while I tried to figure it out why. So ok, It’s probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, but who wouldn’t fall for breathtaking views of ancient temples and pagodas, and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets? Why haven’t I felt that way about anywhere else I’ve been before? I thought about it for a few days after I arrived back home, and finally figure it out. It was the Burmese people. The people defined every part of this place for me. They were happy, welcoming, inviting, and open. They created the environment of peace and calm that made me want to stay there.
